Favorite Species/ technique /style of fishing

I love targeting big Murray cod with big swimbaits at night, particularly solo. The thrill of one of these freshwater giants crunching your lure is insane.

Favorite fishing location?

Lake Eildon, Victoria. This lake holds some of the biggest and best conditioned Murray Cod in Australia.

How did you get into fishing?

My Dad is a keen angler and taught me how to fish when I was very young. We used to go on regular family fishing trips.

My partner and I now both enjoy fishing and get out on the water as much as we can. I can be very competitive so am always trying to outdo him with bigger fish, I hate being beaten so am always motivated.

Why you love fishing?

I love the challenge and also the thrill of catching fish. Murray Cod can be a very difficult species to target and catch consistently so when you do manage to get one in the boat it is a huge adrenaline rush.

Fishing is also my time to myself, I enjoy being out in the boat on my own. It can be great fun to go fishing with other people but also relaxing and peaceful to be on your own.

Greatest fishing memory?

Catching two Murray Cod over a metre in one night at lake Eildon while I was 7 months pregnant. It was a struggle to get those fish in the boat for a quick photo on my own but I managed.

Favorite Rapala Product?

the Rapala X-Rap Peto in either size, such a versatile lure when it comes to Murray Cod.

The 13 Fishing Concept A3 is hard to pass up as a favourite. The reel is bombproof.
